IFCA has established a full range of programs and benefits to meet the needs of our members. Below is a representative listing of our services:
General Services
Accounting Services Members receive reduced rates on tax and other accounting services from IFCA's CPA firm.
Annual Golf Outing Each fall, members and industry guests look forward to joining in the fun of our Golf Outing.
Architect/Owner/Contractor Relations
Awards Program The Finish First Awards program was established to recognize the superior work of our members, whose entries are submitted to the Association. A panel of independent judges meets to examine each entry and select semi-finalists. The judges then decide on the winner for each category and these companies are showcased at the annual Finish First Awards event as well as in several business and professional publications.
AWCI Chapter Affiliation As an IFCA member, you are automatically also a member of AWCI. AWCI provides a number of benefits including technical publications; two premier educational events each year; various programs and advocacy; as well as safety and insurance programs. A key benefit is that AWCI maintains agreements with various international unions, enabling union contractors to travel to construction sites outside their jurisdictions.
Bond Reimbursement Members' required bond premiums for Welfare and Pension Funds, up to the maximum dollar amount referenced in IFCAís agreements, will be reimbursed by IFCA after receiving proof of bond coverage in the form of a paid invoice.
Collective Bargaining IFCA members have the advantage of the Association being the collective bargaining agent for its members with respect to contracts with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 21 ("District Council 21") and the Metropolitan Regional Council of Philadelphia and Vicinity of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America ("Metropolitan Regional Council").
In addition, the Furniture Handlers & Installers Association and the Laborersí District Council, divisions of IFCA, maintain separate collective agreements with Metropolitan Regional Council and the Laborersí District Council respectively.
Educational Seminars Seminars of interest and value to our membership are researched and recommended by IFCAís Executive Director as well as our Program/Education Committee.
Industry Advancement Programs Industry Advancement Programs are administered by IFCA and its Financial Planning Committee through agreements with the unions, utilizing funds from the employer industry advancement fund. The primary focus is to promote awareness and understanding of current issues regarding our membership and the construction industry, and to provide educational programs to those in the construction trades.
Labor/Management Relations
Legal Representation Limited legal representation is offered to members with respect to industry related concerns. Also, legal counsel provides the association with annual updates to IFCAís Legal Binder, which is a FREE benefit to the membership!
Membership Appreciation/ Recruitment Party The Association hosts an annual party to thank our current members and to attract new members.
Newsletter IFCA produces a quarterly industry newsletter covering noteworthy news about our industry as well as promoting Association and union events.
OSHA Citation Handling Program Limited legal assistance is offered to any member cited by OSHA.
Philadelphia Business Journal As part of your IFCA membership, youíll receive reimbursement for one-yearly subscription to this weekly Journal which is filled with timely articles relating to our industry and to your business.
Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Since IFCA is a Chamber member, we monitor programs and will keep members informed of those which may be of interest.
Safety Programs IFCA helps to keep you and your employees safe by providing appropriate safety programs, printed safety talks and a safety manual for your business - all FREE of charge!
Political and Public Relations
Tuition Reimbursement Members and employees are eligible for tuition reimbursement for programs which meet IFCAís educational guidelines and the approval of our Executive Director and Program/ Education Committee.
Skilled Union Labor
Web Site Reimbursement As part of your IFCA membership, you’ll receive a one-time reimbursement of $1,000 for setting up a professional web site. To receive reimbursement, a member in good standing will be required to send the association a copy of their paid invoice and cancelled check – you will be reimbursed for the actual cost of creating the web site not to exceed $1,000. For members that already have a web site, send IFCA a copy of your paid invoice and cancelled check to receive reimbursement.
Winter Conference IFCA's winter conference, held at the beginning of each year, features valuable seminars by our legal counsel.
Workers' Compensation: Each IFCA member may consult with our Workers' Compenation counsel for a total of one hour per year FREE of charge.
Voting Rights within our Association Provide Identity
and Team Spirit As a member, you are invited to attend our free General
Membership Dinner Meetings held periodically. This meeting is designed
to share information with you regarding our various unions and other
industry concerns. The meeting is chaired by our Executive Director
and is co-chaired, from time to time, by a Guest Speaker.
