Services

IFCA has established a full range of programs and benefits to meet the needs of our members. Below is a representative listing of our services:

Awards Program

The Finish First Awards program was established to recognize the superior work of our members, whose entries are submitted to the Association. A panel of independent judges meets to examine each entry and select semi-finalists. The judges then decide on the winner for each category and these companies are showcased at the annual Finish First Awards event as well as in several business and professional publications.

AWCI Chapter Affiliation

As an IFCA member, you are automatically also a member of AWCI. AWCI provides a number of benefits including technical publications; two premier educational events each year; various programs and advocacy; as well as safety and insurance programs. A key benefit is that AWCI maintains agreements with various international unions, enabling union contractors to travel to construction sites outside their jurisdictions.

Bond Reimbursement

Members' required bond premiums for Welfare and Pension Funds, up to the maximum dollar amount referenced in IFCA's agreements, will be reimbursed by IFCA after receiving proof of bond coverage in the form of a paid invoice.

IFCA members have the advantage of the Association being the collective bargaining agent for its members with respect to contracts with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 21 ("District Council 21") and the Metropolitan Regional Council of Philadelphia and Vicinity of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America ("Metropolitan Regional Council").

In addition, the Furniture Handlers & Installers Association and the Laborers' District Council, divisions of IFCA, maintain separate collective agreements with Metropolitan Regional Council and the Laborers' District Council respectively.

Educational Seminars

Seminars of interest and value to our membership are researched and recommended by IFCA's Executive Director as well as our Program/Education Committee.

Industry Advancement Programs

Industry Advancement Programs are administered by IFCA and its Financial Planning Committee through agreements with the unions, utilizing funds from the employer industry advancement fund. The primary focus is to promote awareness and understanding of current issues regarding our membership and the construction industry, and to provide educational programs to those in the construction trades.
